Projects

Holywood Shared Town undertakes a wide-ranging variety of projects in the local community. 

 

HST projects improve the local environment, encourage community participation and togetherness, increase local knowledge of history and provide opportunities for cultural and social engagement in Holywood and surrounding areas.

Holywood Men's Shed

An updated version of the shed in the back garden, Holywood Men's Shed is a hive of activity, you might find people restoring furniture, perhaps restoring bicycles for a local school, making bird boxes, planters or maybe even fixing lawn mowers.  Read more...

Fiddle Field Allotments

To bring further opportunities for self-sustainability at local and community levels, HST are working on opportunities for food growing to increase provision for allotments as a fantastic asset for the town and the community.  Read more...

Holywood Resettlement Group

Holywood Resettlement Group was set up in late 2021 to welcome an Afghan refugee family to our town under the Community Sponsorship scheme. We are a group of volunteers, playing our part in making Holywood a welcoming place for refugees. Read more...

Marino Station

Local residents and passengers are working with Translink on a proposal to address recent access improvement works at the station, and introduce landscaping and permanent artwork to better recognise and celebrate the history of the station. Read more...

Dunville Heritage Community Garden

Set in the wonderful surroundings of Redburn Country Park, Dunville Community Garden is a partnership between Holywood Shared Town and the Conservation Volunteers (TCV) restoring the historic old Dunville garden (1880-1910) as a community resource.  Read more...

We're a group of ladies, over 55s, that meet to undertake a variety of sewing projects. We come together to share ideas, spend time doing something we love and learning new skills in a friendly social atmosphere. New members are always welcome.  Read more...
